The Army selection process consists of a number of staged sections. The first stage is to make contact with the Armed Forces Careers Office. Of course, this stage is easy enough. Anyone can make contact with the Armed Forces Careers Advisor, right? Yes they can, but not many people know how to get their initial application off on the right foot. As soon as you make contact with the AFCO the careers advisor will be assessing you. It is important that you attend the careers office wearing a smart outfit.
The vast majority of applicants (probably 90%) will attend in jeans, trainers and a T Shirt. OK, there's nothing wrong in that I hear you say. But, these are the people who have an uphill battle from here on in. It is very important that take the time to make an effort in everything that you do during selection. You WILL be assessed on your personal administration during EVERY stage of selection.
Once you have made contact with the Careers Office, you will then have a presentation and an initial chat. Once these are complete you will then be required to sit the BARB Test, a further Army interview, and finally attend the Army Development and Selection Centre.
